Nottingham University Business School's International Symposium on Logistics 2009

Each year the International Symposium on logistics aims to provide a forum of discussion for leading academics, researchers and practitioners specialising in the field. It is organised by the Centre for Concurrent Enterprise at the Nottingham University Business School, University of Nottingham. In 2009 Meji Media had the pleasure of assisting with conference planning, organisation and management.

We arranged a large proportion of the conference logistics, enabling the University of Nottingham staff to strictly concentrate on the content related side of the symposium. We were responsible for everything from venue finding and booking, transport arrangements to delegate registration and payment processing. We were also present on–site for over 4 days in Istanbul to actively manage organisational issues such as setting up the AV equipment for the symposium as well as ensuring delegates were made to feel welcome and comfortable.

The ensure that delegates got to experience some of the culture and beauty of Istanbul, we also organised a Bosphorus river cruise with dinner and belly dancers. Delegates thoroughly enjoyed this experience and valued the relaxing ambience during which they could soak up the atmosphere  and further discuss conference-related issues if they wished.

The 2010 ISL will be held in Kuala-Lumpur in Malaysia, and given our thorough assistance and organisation of the 2009 Symposium, we are delighted to announce that the University of Nottingham has awarded us the contract to host and organise this year’s proceedings.
